Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

Caller Lookup helps you look up Swiss phone numbers, save lookup results, and optionally use saved entries for iOS caller identification. The app does not sell personal data, does not show advertising, and does not use personal data for cross-app tracking.

Who We Are

Caller Lookup is provided by adam engineering. This policy explains what data the app processes, why it is processed, and how you can control it.

Data You Provide or Generate

The app may process the following data when you use it:

How Data Is Used

The app uses this data only to provide its core functionality:

search.ch Telephone Directory API

Caller Lookup uses the official search.ch telephone directory API. When you perform a lookup, the app sends the entered phone number, your search.ch API key, the requested result count, and a language parameter to search.ch. These requests are necessary for the lookup feature to work.

Use of the search.ch API is subject to search.ch's own terms and privacy practices. You can review their API information at https://search.ch/tel/api/help.

Local Storage and iCloud Sync

Lookup history is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If iCloud is enabled for the app, lookup records may be synced through the app's private CloudKit container so they are available across your devices signed in to the same Apple ID.

Some settings, including the API key and local usage counters, are stored locally on the device and are not intentionally synced by the app.

Call Directory Extension

If you enable iOS call identification for Caller Lookup, saved lookup entries with valid phone numbers and labels may be exported to the app's Call Directory extension. This lets iOS display caller identification for known numbers. The exported list is stored in the app group container shared between the app and its extension.

Crash and Diagnostic Reporting

Caller Lookup uses Bugsnag for crash reporting and diagnostics. Bugsnag may receive diagnostic data such as crash data, device identifiers, product interaction information, and related technical details that help identify and fix problems. This data is used for app functionality and diagnostics, not for advertising or tracking.

Clipboard Use

The app can paste a phone number from your clipboard when you explicitly use the paste action. Clipboard content is used only to fill the phone number field and is not read continuously.

Data Sharing

The app may share data only with the services needed to operate it:

Caller Lookup does not sell your data and does not share your data with advertising networks.

Tracking and Advertising

Caller Lookup does not use third-party advertising, does not use data brokers, and does not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Your Choices

Children's Privacy

Caller Lookup is not directed to children and is intended for users who can responsibly use telephone directory lookup services and API keys.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated when the app changes or when legal, technical, or operational requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the current version.
